Frequently Asked Questions

Your application moves through several individual steps. Once every step has been submitted and approved, your application enters “Ready for Final Review” status.

From that point, allow up to 10 business days for final review.

Keep in mind: the 10-day clock starts only after all steps are approved — not when you first begin your application. If a step is rejected or still pending, final review has not started yet.

Your skills must be verified and signed by an individual who holds a current, valid certification or license at your level or higher.

For example, if you are applying as an EMT, your skills may be signed by an EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, or physician. If you are applying as a Paramedic, your signer must be a Paramedic or higher.

Signatures from individuals whose certification or license is expired, lapsed, or below your level will be rejected.

All applications must be submitted through Certemy — we do not accept paper or in-person applications.

Cards are typically mailed the next business day after final approval and typically arrive within 3 weeks.

Before contacting us, please:

  1. Confirm your application shows Final Review Approved in Certemy.
  2. Verify the mailing address on your profile is current.
  3. Allow the full 3 weeks from your approval date.

If all three are true and your card still hasn’t arrived, you may order a replacement card using the self-service portal for a $10 fee.

EMR’s, Paramedics, and MICNS no longer get physical credential cards.

1.Blank/Red – Requires a submission.

2. Green circle WITHOUT checkmark – Pending review

3. Green circle WITH A checkmark – Approved 

Certemy will send you an email notification (Check your spam/junk folder) and details on why your step was rejected.

You can also verify this by logging into your account and hovering over ‘Rejected by verifier’ Icon. (Desktop version only).

Please review the step in the application as it will also list common reasons that step is rejected.

For further help understanding why a step was rejected, please review the posted policy and instructions, then email Info@ssvems.com with any clarifying questions.

S-SV receives Live Scan results from the DOJ and FBI. We do not have control over how quickly the results come back to our agency, and any charges on the Live Scan can cause a delay in results.

To ensure the process is done as quickly as possible:

  1. Only S-SV Live Scan forms are accepted, you cannot use another agencies or the DMV’s livescan form.
  2. You need to upload a copy of the Live Scan into your application and show the ATI Number and ATI Date at the bottom (This is filled out by the livescan operator)
